Well this am I met a local Vanagon fellow. Presently he has 3 in garage and driveway.
It just took really leaning on the latch to swivel the passenger seat = Nice! Now I have an armchair in my sitting room
I also learned about water boxes and suburu, etc... engines. Now I'm thinking. Its really a no brainer especially for performance, power and resell value.
Saw a weekender and I like the differences.
So S'sWWs has now a for sale sign in the window. If the right price comes along then it will be sold and replaced with something that very well can be better.
COME ON WEATHER, START WARMING UP! I'll not sell it cheap, right price or right deal comes along and I will move on but stay in the VW line.
My friends will be shocked! Who knew after hanging around in here and listening to you all and speaking with some locally addicted others, all in just a few weeks of being here and a few months of being an owner how much can/could change. _________________ '09 2.5L Jetta 5 cylinder, 5 spd, super turbo, see thread in H2O Cooled Jetta, etc...

It gets worse.
Google up "Syncro de Mayo" or "mogfest"
Or search for the threads here on "BurNingVan"

Thanks but it could all work out good for me. Did not expect this at my time in life but what they heck, I've always been challenge oriented. _________________ '09 2.5L Jetta 5 cylinder, 5 spd, super turbo, see thread in H2O Cooled Jetta, etc...

I cant tell from the title of your post, nor from reading it, what you are talking about.
You have what for sale, and want to buy what? |

I think she's saying that she likes the idea of the Weekender version and is selling her Westy in order to buy one of those.
In any case, Simba'sWestyWings, I think you're right! It's absolutely addicting. I don't think my husband has any clue what we're getting into yet. LOL It was all my idea. I've loved VW's since I was a kid in California and begged my mom for years to buy one.
Now that I've got a family of my own and we needed a good all-around rig, I finally got one. And now I anticipate getting a few more. Hoping to get my 16 year old a bug or a jetta when she finishes driver's ed and gets her license. _________________ ~Annie

First "he's" a SHE. Yes S'sWWs now has a for sale sign BUT not in a rush rush to sell , only for right price so I can buy something else. I identified a Weekender above but I was incorrect. Its something else but still a VW
First who the heck cares if you've have more whatever than I have teeth. Off this subject I'll bet I could bury you anyday. oh and p.s. yeh I'm missing a lot of teeth at my age but what the heck, never had any knocked out!!
I can only say, take an attitude with me and watch my dust. I think people with an imagination know exactly what the title may allude to and certainly it's very clear in the content what the title's about.
You know a lot of gals are into the VW thing.
For your 16 year old, I had a 4 door, gas, 5 speed Jetta and it was darn near the biggest little car I ever had and could she go. My ex had a diesel and I enjoyed driving it but I still liked mine. Wish I'd known of this place because I would have given it to anyone, lots of new systems in it, sent it to a junk yard for $100.00 Now I feel bad because it had a new clutch and several other newbie parts.
Oh and Vdub have no idea what you mean in your trust statement. Don't see any mention of trust in this thread but I did use the term in a private conversation today. Are you a wiccan or a warlord??? _________________ '09 2.5L Jetta 5 cylinder, 5 spd, super turbo, see thread in H2O Cooled Jetta, etc...

Yeah, I'm leaning towards the jetta. She likes both but kinda the bug more. I agree, though, jetta's have so much space and I think she'd be happier with it in the long run. Maybe we'll get a jetta for her daily driver and a bug to restore and show or something. She'd like that. _________________ ~Annie

I never had a bug BUT I dated a lot of fellows with them. Always managed to neck as long as one had a sense of humor!!!!
What I liked about my Jetta when I did tent camping I'd have the trunk, the back seat and the roof top bag loaded and I had trouble keeping it below 140kpm. Was very solid little tank and good mileage. _________________ '09 2.5L Jetta 5 cylinder, 5 spd, super turbo, see thread in H2O Cooled Jetta, etc...

SWW, I think you may have misunderstood Emeritusx's post. The comments below the ________ are his signature line. Those are posted anytime Emeritusx sends a post. It is likely something that has personal meaning or humor for Emeritusx and likely is not meant as a comment on your topic or post.

I think you might have missunderstood some of the comments in the little white box. They are not intended for you...they are just a quote or a funny statement that someone incorporates into all their postings.
Relax a bit and enjoy your next VW. |

Ok everyone, I reacted to something that didn't make sense to me. I keep having to remind myself of my sharp meteoric learning curve.
P.S. I used to lecture on Sharks, Whales, etc.... I know all about shark's teeth. It'd be better to say more teeth than in an Orca's mouth. They have a fixed amount. hehehehe now I'm pulling leg.
Sorry everyone, still have to learn personalities Zee _________________ '09 2.5L Jetta 5 cylinder, 5 spd, super turbo, see thread in H2O Cooled Jetta, etc...

So anyway, swerving back on track, I think...
What do you prefer about the Weekender?
Are you saying you're looking for one that already has the Subaru conversion in place? That may be a wait...or expensive...or both.
Good call, at least, taking your time on the 'SWW' sale... I'd say enjoy it for what it is (I love the full Westy myself) and just wait for something 'better' to pop-up...as perhaps you are.
You know this site has a Classified section then, right? Good place to scope a variety of Vanagons for sale in various forms and states and prices.

So, what exactly are you hoping to find, VW wise? I'm curious to know what has you looking to sell your Westy. _________________ ~Annie

I made a mistake. NOT considering a weekender. Have my eyes on a Country Home VW Camper Van (Americn made) which is almost finished having the original engine replaced with a 1.9 turbo VW diesel.
1st reason is the engine. Economical
2nd top will be easier for me to lift
3rd will be relatively finished how I want (well some say about the matter) plus an ottoman to cover a head.
4th hope to get another type of fridge than dometic.
So I think I got that all accurate.
I love my Westy and I'm not sad I have it. Already did a 4000 mile trip in it but if I can make a change, why not. Alas I do get attached to things.
I drove a Westy with a Suburu engine, yesterday it had a shift box and a few other upgrades and very much liked it.
I will be putting ads out today I think plus will put a sign in my windows. Like I said, I don't HAVE to sell but I want to SELL only for the reasons again.
Hopefully I cleared the confusion that I created. _________________ '09 2.5L Jetta 5 cylinder, 5 spd, super turbo, see thread in H2O Cooled Jetta, etc...
