Beautiful pic!

for what its worth my point of view, go find an express exhaust fitting centre and ask the man or woman to find a muffler box similar size in old stock. They will be glad to be shot of it, the mark up on mufflers is huge and they may even help fit it. Try an independent if one is in your area or for all you Samba members send dimensions etc to my good friend Neil at the Action Exhaust Centre in Blackpool UK www.actionexhaustcentre.co.uk and he will do his level best to help you out and will parcel up and post worldwide. He has loads of old stock silencers/mufflers and is knowledgeable about all things exhaust.Telephone is 00441253751555 but remember the time zone difference!!
Just a recommendation for a genuinely nice guy, hes not a VW man and wont touch fitting on rear engined stuff but will help on a supply only basis. tell him Mark in Fuerteventura sent you for "mates rates" prices!

I use a '70's ford maverick-6cyl muffler-Maremont brand, others may be as good, last one lasted 12yrs. Have to add input flange and orient position as the output is a turned down outlet=before welding flange.

Well I figger if Ben can brag I can too.

The OP needs to add his van info as a sig line, please. Nowhere in this thread does he say his rig is an aircooled. I had to learn that in another thread he put up.

That or mentioning it does help with responses. Smile
