Kustoms sells them. My ole lady is making one from "sunbrella" marine canvas.

If you live near a place that does custom boat work, they could make you a vinyl/canvas top that would fit like a glove. A few guys I know have gone that route for their jeeps and they work really well.

Buggy tops aren't like Jeep tops; each buggy is different - there isn't a 'one-size fits all' solution anywhere. Tom's (Kustoms) has a great sunbrella type top option.

Most car convertible tops are made from vinyl or Hartz Stayfast canvas (or similar material).

If you think that you'll find an all-weather top for the buggy that you can use in any weather, guess again. And bring a bailing bucket for when it rains... Laughing

Have you considered a removable fiberglass hardtop?

I have both tops on mine. The black top is for everyday out of the direct sun (heavy screen) and I also have folded up
(in case it rains) top on the back that I can unfold. A guy that makes boat canopies made it. The frame to the rain top is folded down
and out of the way until needed. The fabric is canvas and works well with rain. I live here in SoCal so we don’t see a lot of rain,
so it stays neatly stowed down and out of the way.

Made my own.
Material is vinyl from an upholstery shop which is light enough that it can be sewn on an ordinary sewing machine. Only "special order" part was the plastic trim strip which fits into the slot in the windshield.
Total cost was under $100.
I can post a how-to if someone is interested.

It's pretty straight forward. I've never made anything like this before and I got it all cut out, sewn up and done in about 5 hours. I got all the stuff from one of those hobby stores for about $50. Borrowed my friends wife's sewing maching. With heavy duty nylon thread and heavy duty needle. and off i went.

Here's the diagram of my buggy top. (Your's may be slightly different depending on the length and width of your buggy)

I can shoot you over further advice/ideas on how I made mine. Just post on here and I'll try and help or post more pics.

I have posted a how-to here: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4742823

I figured it would be better as a separate post as it should be easier to find when doing a search.

What time did you call. I was in most of the day. I did go out to get a new buggy body but transferred the phone to my cell. I am in 8:30 to 5:00.
