I searched, but was wondering if anyone has done a consumate thread showing the progression of crankshaft pulleys with the TDC and timing marks throughout the years. I have several pulleys and I've always wanted to I.D. them

On the 70's pulleys am I correct in saying that the roundish dent on the rearmost lip of the pulley is TDC, and the "V" shaped notches on the forewardmost lip are the various timing marks?

Ya know, that would be cool and would make a great sticky - but part of the problem is that there are quite a few that have had owners or mechanics file additional grooves in them.....

Yes, you are correct.

I'd print out that degree wheel mentioned here and use it to ID what the marks on your pulley collection are. Knowing this you can then use them on the proper cars with the proper distributors.
