You know how it goes, when you want something you cant find it and when you aren't looking for it there it is. I was on a bus hunt trying to find a 13 window deluxe within a 1 or 2 state range of Kansas for a couple of years. Fortunately I came across a nice 67 21 window in So Cal last summer that was already lowered front/rear and had it shipped back home to me...

Finally followed up on a lead I had and brought home a pair of 67 deluxes this weekend! Both are walkthroughs have original paint in decent condition, have all their deluxe trim, have some/most of their original interior, and are missing motors.

The nicer of the two has minimal rust (lower inch or so of the rockers but the outriggers/cargo floor frame/etc.. are all in pretty good shape) complete original interior, and both bumpers. Interesting option codes, was a european tourist delivery export code! See pic below

The lesser of the two is rustier, needs the outriggers/floor replaced, is missing all the seats, but does have a near perfect nose, interior panels, jail bars, and the front bumper. See pic below

Its been a long 2 days getting them back. For the towing option I did a 1 way rental on a u haul car carrier and it worked like a champ. I put 600 miles on the trailer in 30 hrs returned it in Wichita, and it was about $100 for the two days. Slick way to move a bus, built in ramps and cargo straps/nets that wrap over the front tires and ratchet down to built in cargo straps on the front.

They had been sitting outside for years, I pulled the trailer through quarter car wash and blasted both of them off on the way home and let them air dry before putting them both up in storage. I'm busting at the seams with VWs and have them stashed all over town now (good problem to have).

Nicer of the two but its a lousy picture

The rustier one missing most of interior, still has possibilities though!

Sometimes when it rains its pours.

So, do you have three buses now?

a guy just bought my beetle and he used one of the uhaul trailers. and i have used multiple dolleys from uhaul. well worth the money.

also the lesser of the 2 looks to be in rather good condition. better than anything i could find around me. wish you were closer. id offer to buy the rustier one.

Yeah, 3 buses now. All 67 deluxes which happens to be my favorite year. I like years ending in 7's. 57 last year of oval, 67 last year of old style with 12V and better brakes.

Not very good pics, learn as you go. I did a much better job hauling the 2nd bus back, 1st one was too far forward on the trailer with wwaayyyy too much tongue weight, I only did a quicky wash on it, and didn't get many pictures. I had it all figured out for the 2nd (rusty) bus and got much better pics.

Nice busses for sure!

We used a beat-up trailer to move a bus this weekend. Lots of swearing and crossed fingers. Might have to look into the U-haul trailers next time.

Probably too early to be your bus, but shot sometime around 65 in Wichita, KS.

I got the nicer 67 all the way through its paperwork earlier this week. Its a NICE feeling to have a clear title on the way. Taking the rustier (but still nice) one for inspection today and will do the rest of the paperwork in the morning and will sleep better when both titles are in my hand.

-14 degrees without wind chill in Wichita this morning (new record low), not really the time to be loading a bus with a flat tire and $10 harbor freight come along onto a trailer but its done!
