I found the steering wheel nut. Seems like the best way to find a missing part is to buy a replacement The wheel matches the rest of the car - it's a little beat-up

Got the front turn signals test fit. Also got my front license plate bracket figured out. That's not the plate it will have; just making sure it fits.
Also: I finally ordered a wiring harness. Decided to go with "Rebel Wire" after all. _________________ 1963 Karmann Ghia |

Finished building the roof insert yesterday. Canvas stretched over an aluminum panel. It's removable.

Sooo, I just wanted to say this build thread is awesome. Making what some consider to be an ugly POS into pure awesomeness is what makes this hobby fun and inspiring. To dc, good job man! I look at this thread every now and again keep saying to myself, "What if?"
So I was bored today and decided to do some photoshoping. To whomever on here owns the square that I used for these pics, I meant no disrespect to your car. Just thought it would be a great base for my image.

Do they make a rear safari kit for a squareback rear window? Even a pop-out using the side pop out latches would be sick. I am sure you could fab something up for the metal frame, but the rubber would be a challenge to source. On that truck it would be rad though. _________________ Jim in Sacto -
