I would like to modify my rear seat on my '70 cabrio to make it safer to carry my 2 and 5 year old offspring down to the local burger joint (no highway).
Has anyone modified the rear to lock the rear seat back in the upright position? What about installing rear seatbelts?
I'm planning on installing rear seat belts from a Golf. I'm planning on using brackets like this http://store.cip1.com/Merchant2/merchant.php?Scree...-06-03-04. Has anyone undertaken a similar project. Would like to know welding points and things to consider before starting. Thanks in advance. |

I recommend installing seat belts. I have a 70 Ghia Vert as well. Same thing with my young'un. I installed rear seat belts and had the baby car seat positioned in the middle of the rear seat. Baby had room too stretch out those little legs and feet that way. I used the inside seat belts to secure the baby car seat. Locking little baby in for a nice and secure "safe" ride.
Good Luck.
