Belly Pan under shifter & Bumper Mounts

So I finally decided to get my original bumpers straightened and powder coated. Upon removing the front bumper, I took off the "pan" or cover to access the bolts for the bumper. I noticed my pan is all original and has some surface rust. What is the original color, or coating that is supposed to be on it? Thanks!

gray primer. i used rustoleum smoke gray on mine tho'
