She says that anything under 8 gallons and the van dies.
So the tanks from Amazon are not a good fit? _________________ Tight is tight... too tight is expensive!!!!

This pic shows the position of the fuel gauge needle after draining the gas tank thru the fuel outlet and the return line.
Interestingly, the motor will still run after I reconnected everything. Maybe someone knows why?
My guess is that the pump can create enough suction to pull fuel from the tank even when it will not drain out of the same outlet. _________________ 1986 2.1L Westy 2wd Auto Trans. |

Like someone said earlier, the feed tube extends into the tank and makes a 90 degree bend down into a reservoir located at lowest point in the tank. When the level is low - this is how the pump is able to pull fuel when you are making a right turn and the fuel would otherwise all be to the left side of tank. In your case, you drained the fuel from the nipple, but there's still fuel remaining in the reservoir. _________________ 1963 Anthracite Beetle 1776 w/ 34pict
