|
|
I've searched a bit and started to compile a small list of what I think I should be looking for. If anyone has anything to add/change/remove, let me know!
Pictures of anything unique helps too!
Factory Belly Pans with Wiring Tube in Belly Pan (No Wiring Tabs)
Holes Drilled for Deluxe Trim
No Roof Welding / Window Cuts
081 = Walk-through (Microbus or Deluxe)
130 = Non-Sunroof Deluxe (13 or 15 Window)
24/25 - Microbus Deluxe
241 = Cargo doors right, left hand drive, full middle seat
251 = Cargo doors right, left hand drive, short middle seat
23 Window should have a chassis 1 144 281 or older
21 Window would be 1 144 282 or newer
Special bits?
Did they all have:
Jailbars?
Chrome Speedo Bezel & Ashtray?
Dash Clock?
White Steering Wheel (Any Specific Horn Button?)
Etc?
I've found most of my info from these links:

Don't forget interior and paint color combos.
Unless it has an SK paint code for single color; deluxe's are all two-tone. Interior would then be coordinated to match.
Yes to jailbars
Yes to chrome bezel and ash tray
Yes to clock
Plus:
Chrome interior handles
Earlier deluxes have chrome cargo door mechanism
Aluminum coat hooks
Chrome front emblem
Deluxe beltline and bumper trim
There is more but it's been a long day and I don't feel like walking into my garage.... |

Can someone tell me what the rear corner roof sections are (come out to a 45% angle and has a hole in it?). Is that a sign of a deluxe? Was that missing from select years? http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/album_page.php?pic_id=530326 _________________ 1959 Type II Mango SO-23

Do you have picture of this? Doesn't the wiring harness rests the same way on all buses? (Inside the passenger frame rail). _________________ "There is only one sin; disconnection from self." |

The purpose of this thread is.....???
My take....please let me know if I'm wrong.....to keep uneducated buyers from paying for a fake/clipped, 13/15, standard, kombi or for that matter a panel ?? _________________ Transporter Restorations

Yup, you're right about the wiring tube angeliis814, I though you meant it was in some different location other than the passenger frame rail. Pic from another thread showing metal tube around the wiring harness. (This bus is a DD Panel, but it has the same tube as a Deluxe...).
