Howdy folks! I have finally found me an 091 tranny for my dune buggy and I'm going to look at it tomorrow. My question is are there any ways to inspect it before purchase? I have a video inspection camera but the light on the end isn't the greatest. I'm suspecting that I should be able to turn the input shaft and shift it between gears, am I correct? The guy want $800 bones firm. Its out of 76 bus and has 930 CV flanges. Thanks |

Pay close attention when rolling through the gears. I bought an 002 and didnt pay close attention to it. The guy said he bought it and never ran it, it was junk! wouldnt stay in 4th and I didnt find out til I had converted my car. didnt drive it for 3 mos.
Thats alot of loot to gamble on. Could easily double if its no good but totally worth it if its a runner.
Goodluck! |

I bought the 091. Got some other goodies in the deal too. Brand new imi starter, 2 new empi CV joints. I was able to check out closely and found no broken teeth and ring and pinion is in good condition. He installed the 930 CV flanges for his long travel sandrail project. The rest of the project was for sale too. I am happy to have it! Sorry for the other post. |
