So finally i have decided to start a build thread on my 68 bay window that i picked up from San luis Obispo 2 years ago. When i first picked it up it was mostly stock except the camper vent on top with alot of hidden rust in the front end, so after rolling it for awhile the engine gave out, since then i bought a new engine and decided to repair the body, rust, dents, etc. and give it a new paint job with the original paint codes.

That looks very nice. I love that color! if I may suggest to paint the engine bay a lighter color. the bed liner looks trick and is very durable but the black will make it hard to see in there and it will be harder to spot leaks.

What are your plans for the motor and interior?

Looking good man. I have seen that bus out in Lodi before. I live in Turlock and have a 68 westy that I am in the process of completing my restoration back to the original pearl white color. I have noticed the square and round holes in the back of some seat backs. What is the purpose for the holes?? Mine still have the sheet metal over them.

thanks, and the holes in the back of the seat the square one is for a ash tray and the circle one help get air to the back of the bus,so before they go through the seat they travel through the door panel. when i go back to the shop i will take pictures for you to show you what i mean. btw thanks for the input on painting the bedliner.

Right on! Awesome bus. Keep the progress going!

What is the suspension specs for the lowering job, and what wheels and size tires are you running? Love the look and thinking about replicating it!

for the lowering in the rear i had bus boy brackets and turned the springplate a couple of degrees, and for the front it was pulled leaves, but now the leaves are back in and i am resetting the suspension to stock height. and the tires that are in the front they are temp tires, in the rear they are 185/65 and they are 14inch bus rims. thank you for the kind words.
