Verner and Verner's automotive here in Boulder CO. Does a fine job when I get in over my head, and he doesn't have a massive attitude like someone else here in town does |

I'm gonna give some props to Scott Cunningham, owner of Cunningham Tuning in Bellingham, WA. Although he currently hasn't worked on my vanagon, he's done great work on several of my other vw/audi cars. He is a very talented mechanic/fabricator and it's not uncommon to see a customer vanagon with a suby or tdi swap in his parking lot. Very reasonable prices and a very knowledgeable and humble guy _________________ '88 vanagon*****'91 gti 1.8t*****'04 r32*****'11 suburban z71 |

Two thumbs up for Lusti Motors in San Diego.
I broke down there and they really took good care of me. They are an independant who specialized in VWs in the old days.
They had cool old photos on the wall from the 60s of their bays filled with bugs. _________________ Eric

Westy-Werks in in San Luis Obispo stepped up to the plate when Go-Westy stopped working on customers car leaving me hanging. Excellent Team! |
I second this. I typically do all my own work but I used them to get my nonfunctional stock AC system running and it was worth every penny. While they were working on the then new-to-me van they checked a few other things and let me know what they recommended I address sooner rather than later.
They stepped up when I had a failure on the AC slightly out of warranty they didn't bat an eye at making it right. Good to know I've got a trustworthy fallback in case I need work done and don't have the time to do it myself. _________________ White 1988 Vanagon Westfalia (Automatic, A/C, solar, aux battery, 15" GW wheels, 8' Fiamma awning, 63 qt. Let's not forget the one here that give free advice a few time a week and get not much out of it
The one with long time project and so many picture and advice.
The one opening the way to new eras.
All the stock or conversion engine guru that like to share stuff.
My very missed friend Daryl
The simple guys who found a easy way to fix stuff easily and share it here.
And of course, any crazy vanagon shop owner that still want to work on those square box.
cheers

For all the mechanical tasks I end up tackling myself:
Thank you! and much appreciation to The Samba community. Without all of the information posted on this forum I wouldn't have attempted anything past chaining my own oil, and would have missed out on a good deal of rewarding fun. Again, thank you to everyone for providing this outstanding pool of knowledge, support and entertainment.
For all the things I can't do:
George and Jason at Porbug - I can't say enough good things about that shop. _________________ Jeff w

What!! Halfway down the second page and no mention of Tencentlife? He hasn't done any work for me (yet), but his time and advice here are invaluable and many are cruising around happily on one of his engines.

I second Hans as well. He's saving my bacon right now on my '85 westy while we are passing through Salt Lake City.

In Calgary, Paul and Dale, and all the other GREAT guys at Tony's Auto, just SE of the Calgary Tower. Always have time to give great advice, longterm care and suggestions to ensure both safety as well as longevity.
They did my GoWesty engine swap, adjusted and made sure all was perfect. _________________ Tortuga
