exactly I thinking MKII there are alot at my pull-a-part. I can mount the pack in a remote box too, so the next time its easier to get to

It's starting to pi$$ me off on all the NLA parts hitting us...my van has plenty of life in left

I was curious if it might be worth ones time to buy new, (i.e. how hard is it to pull this part) so had a quick look through my Rabbit etc. '75-'92 Haynes. '85+ likely different, but in looking, it seems the earlier MY resistor shown in the image below might be the same, or very similar to the Vanagon.

True?

That blower motor sure looks close to the Vanagon one.

Pic borrowed from this Vortex page.

Seems it's from a Mk1. Shows resistor, but not PN. Maybe more info over there?

I searched through some old notes on blower fan resistors.

Maybe something like this is an option?

http://www.electronickits.com/kit/complete/motor/ck1400.htm

If this is suitable, maybe "kill two birds" so to speak as this would replace switch and resistor?

Neil.

Kaiser Soze I owe you big time! It was the switch...just ordered 2 one for backup or in case it goes NLA

Okay this weekend if I can sneak off I'm going to a pull-a-part and grab a resistor pack from a rabbit and a MKII and try to reverse engineer us a resistor pack.

I tried the resistor from the rear blower.

I made the smoke come out of the wire.

So that's out.
