I am in the Portland, ME area for work and spent the last couple of days touring coastal communities and interesting sites around the area. Plenty of driving. I only saw two Vanagons in my travels. One tin top and one Westy.

I was in Portland with my van Friday evening. Otto pizza on Congress St East.
Still a little early in the camping season for some folks. I went to Mount Desert Island couple weekends ago and never saw another bus or van (on the road). _________________ '87 WBWE FAS Gen V |

We get a lot of them at most of the tourist spots all summer long.
Most of us hide the good ones though. |

You will see plenty in the Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park area during the tourist season. The ones that were driven in winter are mostly gone. |

yep, give it a couple weeks, you'll see plenty of them.
I'm trying to get motivation to pull my out of my barn and finish what I started 2 years ago. _________________ Dave

Mine will be up to Orono and mount desert isle in about a month, revisiting where the wife and I met while in college (and I owned the champagne edition bus in my avatar) over 20 years ago. _________________ 1991 Tintop GL Manual tranny, EJ22 |

I am up there all the time in my tan westy. On Saturday I briefly crossed paths with a red westy with S.A. Grille in the kittery area. |

I'm coming up next Sunday, I stay in Washington on Crystal Lake, to do a weeks worth of Bassin' but visit Camden a couple of days, I get my Lobster Roll downtown and maybe head up to the Sate park . We always see two Gold Vans one over by Hanefeds and the other down on the coast. |

I want to come to Maine with my Doka, Bride of Chuey at my side and two canoes on top and bicycles inside, behind the seats. I would go to the Dover/Foxcraft area and visit Jerry Stelmok at his canoe shop, Island Falls Canoes. That's my dream.

Here's mine along U.S.1 at the Saturn stop of the Maine Solar System Model. Did not see any other Vanagons in Maine on that trip a few years ago.
