A while ago, I made hubs that have 5x130 pattern and take the 993TT brakes. They use stock vanagon bearings.
The problem with the kit was the expense. Maybe it's worth revisiting?

And deng chow ping did some porsche set up as well but those are the only custom hubs. Very nice but likely will make the typical vanagon owner feint at the cost. _________________ Tencentlife said,

Re: rear drum-in-disc, I understand that Oettinger used BMW 7-series (E28) and possibly Benz parts. IIRC the front used early M3 (E30) calipers and an early Sprinter disc. _________________ 1986 syncro twin-slider rhd, 3.2S Oettinger wbx6

I would say, yes - worth revisiting.
240 Gordy, you are probably right, but I don't think the typical Vanagon owner is going to want or need large Porsche brakes. This is more for the 'performance' van crowd that has a lot more power and wants more brake to match, and a Porsche bolt pattern at the same time. I've got $350 in just adapters to run Porsche wheels. That's a lot of money for just running different wheels - that cost helps offset the total dollar investment in a setup with a custom or modified hub somewhat. _________________ 1972 Porsche 911E Hot Rod (3.4 Turbo)

|
|
Hi Guys!
I've been cruising bored on computer lately with a half broken neck, so my gears are spinning in the head
I looked into using the Bus 64-79 front hub, but it's not possible unless there's some meat to machine the bore of the inner bearing.
The inner bearings on T25 are 41x68, 113517185C
The inner bearings on buses are 31.75x59, 211405625
We cannot find a bearing that would work being 41x59, or close to, while machining the bore in the hub for the O.D of such bearing.
The outer bearing is not a problem, since the bearing part number for buses and early T25 spindles is 211405645D, 19x45, knowing it could be interchanged with the later spindle bearing 251405645B 22x45.
One thing to consider too is the distance betwwen outer bearing race and inner bearing race.....
While it's interesting, the Porsche 944 and many other cars are using that same bus inner bearing while having a hub, like a Jaguar XJ6 for instance.
Less options for the inner Vanagon T25 bearing though (113517185C)
Back to machining rotors I guess uh?
For people with early spindle fitment problems with kits on the market, you just need an old rotor to machine into a hub from a later vanagon, that should do it.
