Not finished yet but with the suspension preloaded it's under the windshield frame. It will have a second set of headlights... and I can still open the rear hatch!

You can fit 2 of these in a westy.

This is a crf230, the biggest bike I've been able to fit inside a Vanagon.

I used to load my CRF450R into my Westy Camper Syncro. had go between the front seats. It was hard on me, the paint, the interior, the ability to move around and of course the dog hated it. I don't recommend trying it. Do it if its all you got, but it is tight and hard on the Westy.

Impressive. I tried loading my DR350 in a van and gave up, you must've been determined.

Old thread, but since I was recently looking for info here I figured I'd add one more story to mix.

XT225 in the back of the tintop fit just fine once the mirrors were off and the fork was compressed and got the rear light to move up and forward an inch or two.
It took 2 people but wasn't really difficult at all.

Gowesty eye bolt kit for anchoring made it made for a very stable drive home.

Dirtbike in a tintop is much easier than in a Westy.
A westy would “age” quickly loading/unloading a dirt bike.

Yeah, when the time comes to haul my 82 xt550 with the syncro it will be on a bike trailer. Now the wife's 82 dt175 might be a different story.. These pics make my low back hurt which seems more fragile every year Sad . Gotta love all the yammys!

Yamaha XT250 inside an '84 camper.
I did this a few years ago when I didn't care about my interior. Like others have said, it's not easy and it's not clean!
