The plate mounted on the bottom of the table is tight, as is the thumbscrew when it's put into place, however, it bobbles around a little. Seems like I'm missing a bushing or washer or something. Should the plate and the arm be metal-to-metal?
Thanks.

Yes. And there should be washers below:

The metal-to-metal nature of the Westy table-to-arm mount has always annoyed me. If you don't loosen the screw the metal bits grind into each other to produce noise and dust.
I've added low friction spacers to eliminate this. Below is what I currently have : a flexible cutting board trimmed and fastened into place. Now the table pivots more easily w/reduced friction. It also seems to stay in place better.
Next up is Sodo's mod.
Enjoy. _________________ - Jim

I'd seen this thread when I searched before posting but I didn't see how it addresses my issue. Did I miss something? _________________ 1987 Westy Camper |

sciroccojim, it looks like your support arm is worn away at those four locations where the annular rim of the table contact the support arm. Because of this wear, the screw is bottoming in the table hole instead of clamping the two parts together. You can see the 'contact' on the end of the screw, and a little circle down in the hole, that the end of the screw is bottoming in the hole. Adding another washer on the bottom (per kamzkab pic) or adding a plastic spacer per jim909 will back the handwheel bolt out of the hole a little and allow it to clamp tight.
Totally agree, the action of the table can be improved. You tighten it, and later it's wobbling. I'm sure this can be solved, maybe the anchored plastic is the answer. jim909 I don't like the "feel" of galling metal to metal either, it's just not right.
I tried plastic there years ago, and it felt better,,,,, but it added some other problem, maybe too little friction? Sorry I can't remember why I removed it. But I didn't anchor the plastic (anti-rotate) as you did, that's a great idea, I will try that. Wait.....maybe it was a sheet of fiber-reinforced rubber. Dang that memory, can't count on it anymore and I'm not that old! Anxious to hear if you still like the plastic, I will try it. ONWARD! _________________

Ah, yes. Makes sense. I think I'll weld a little metal onto the arm to restore the metal that was galled away, sand it flat to restore the full contact area, then implement the plastic bushing idea. Dang it, I wish my welding gas tank was here at home and not at work!
Thanks, all, for the help! _________________ 1987 Westy Camper |

If the table can 'impress' into the plastic a little more (due to the clearance below) it might be "better" than full contact area. Kinda like that wave-washer in KamzKab's pic it might allow more 'progressive' tightening than "full contact". _________________
