No picture, but if these are the same as the mirror mount screws in the same link, the tamperproof part is just an allen.
Anyhow I'm curious. I'm trying to picture in my head how the ProjektZwo fog housings mate to the grill without cutting the grill up and I'm just not seeing it. Is no modification needed? |
See that hole in the centre of the allen key?Security screws have corresponding male pin in head centre, preventing use of conventional allen. |

That just means that the thief needs to have the proper tool not just a screwdriver if they want to remove it without damaging the car...
You can get tamperproof allen or tamperproof torx drivers pretty easily if you wanted to. |

After years of seeking out the ProjektZwo fog lights, I have bought the South African grilles and although the PZ fog lights would make the front end look very clean without bumper mounted fog lights, I think round fog lights should go with the round headlights.
To anybody deperately seeking the ProjektZwo fog lights, they can be found usually on E-Bay German (ebay.de). I have seen two brand new pairs go for about $200 U.S. lately. If you use E-Bay Germany and find a seller, I strongly encourage you to find a person who accepts PayPal. A common method of payment in Germany on E-Bay is a bank to bank money transfer. This method from America is very complicated and expensive. Good luck! |

I bought a set of those as spares in case my german PZ fog lights "vanish". I don't remember the seller, I think he was from the Pacific Northwest, WA maybe, Erik or Seth? _________________ 1991 Westy auto w/ Peloquin TBD

|
|
Hey guys,
After two years of work I am happy to announce that I can supply BRAND NEW replacement fog light units. Just to be clear, I am not talking about the plastic housings, only the lamps.
They are a copy of the original HELLA unit and are EXACTLY the same dimensions wise. They are available with either a clear front lens or a yellow tinted front lens and come fitted with 55W 12V H3 bulbs.
They are in a complete fog light package which includes a base and a cover (per bumper mount units) which must be removed to use them as Projecktzwo intended. They are fitted to my bus and I'm happy to supply them to whoever needs them.
The only catch is that they take anything up to 60 days to arrive due to the nature of manufacture.
They will be priced at £59.99 per pair plus shipping costs, and yes, I will ship worldwide!
I hope this helps as this has been a complete pain for me too, but finally a solution is upon us!
Regards to you all,
Rich |

Wish that source was still around. Anyway, as an interim, you might try applying some clear sticky lexicon over each lamp glass to protect and hold together any cracked lenses. I think GW sells or ? Cut to fit. |

I am fairly sure there is a thread on here about a or this replacement light actually being distributed through an internet store and is/was very readily available for a decent price in the US.
Are you looking for the zwo housing or the glass light? |

Not the fogs, but the main lights.

Just need the glass. Google hasn't turned up anything, I'll dig a bit deeper, thanks. The link on Raptor's site is dead if that is what you were referring to. _________________ 84 Westy with a 2.1 (Groover)

Just keep in mind the left hand drive vs right hand drive difference when shopping for those headlights
Don't buy them from England... _________________ 1991 VW Multivan syncro 1,9 TD |

Copys of the original HELLA light is being made in china. i use them, and they are good stuff considering that they cost next to nothing.
DLAA LA1029 is the name. they appear on aliexpress from time to time, and also on varius unknown-to-me online stores. they can also be bought directly from the company in china, but you need more than 100 pairs if i remember correctly
avaliable in different colors, but the colors appear on the extra glasshousing around them so they are natural on the inside..
they come as a kit with their own housings, but when you remove all that you have the lamp that fit directly to an orginal projektzwo housing. and as for the housing, is anyone making a repro of that?

here's an option in Germany, though you would need to work on a shipping plan. _________________ 1988 DOKA Transporter

Im a curious about the light pattern on those FX lights. They have very clear glass compressor to the original Projekt Zwo lights.
The original Projekt Zwo lights are actually Hella 155 fog lights. They pop up on eBay now and then. Also original on Jaguar XJS. They were available in clear or yellow fog and clear driving light pattern. _________________ 1991 VW Multivan syncro 1,9 TD |

Please post when you receive the new light. I would like to have one or two spare lights on hand that fit the Projektzwos. There is a thread here where a guy was talking about having an exact replica made of the glass. At the same time if I remember correctly an exact Chinese replica was being offered for super cheap.
Just read back in this thread a little and I guess this is/was the thread I was talking about. |
