ChrisToph3r,

Good eye there. Makes me wonder how in the heck they got the door right... And the fuel fill routed to a syncro fuel tank, where would it have to go? Wow.

The mods look too clean. Like Pro, or somehow strange option from rare factory?

Chris,
My guess is he had an issue with the Syncro gas tank. Then decided it was easier to put a tank inside the van and do some body work, instead of dropping the tranny and engine. Genious.

I've never had my sliding door off the van, so I have no idea how heavy it is, but looking at the picture Chris posted, it looks like the slider is now a swing out door by two pivots? If so, seems like a very heavy moment arm for hinges...

maybe the door is welded shut...but interesting none the less.

It's very well done. They use the factory Doka hinge covers as well as a rubber door stop and some kind of stripe to mask the obvious abortion. If I didn't know better Id say it was factory done.
It's too bad the picture taker didn't give us some more information as to 2 or 4 Wd and where the tank filler led to.

He probably used a Syncro Doka/Sinka as a parts donor. The gas filler is one like that, that's where it is located, the inlet on the gas tank is on this location on the pick ups Wink

That's really weird, eh? The front hinge on the side door is one thing but the gas filler is quite another!

No pix of the other side?

Why would you put the hinges on the front? Seems like it would be way more convenient to have it hinged on the rear, that way when you have it open it doesn't interfere with accessing the passenger door.

Maybe a 2wd van body grafted onto a Syncro Doka?

You guys really had me going there. It's a regular Syncro that's been photoshopped. Cool Check out the rock sliders. I've seen vans with LP tanks mounted under the rear seat. Maybe the gas filler is for LP tank? There is certainly some DOKA/Syncro/Vanagon weirdness going on there.

That's some serious sheet metal work right there. Granted a coat of paint can cover anything in a picture.

The more I look it almost looks stretched in front of the rear wheel.

I have a feeling this could be a disability vehicle of some sort, that is not a rock slider on the side unless you want to hang up on the mounting brackets. Looks more like a step.

Shocked
DOKA-van Syncro hybrid

Idea wanted a Syncro but only had a Syncro DOKA as donor

Have you ever wanted to build a Mad Max style vehicle? Now is your chance. The body is complete. Just paint
and add your own drive train. A mid 90's Buick front wheel drive displaced to the rear of this bus would be a
great combination. Gray and black paint applied by brush or hand would give it the correct look.

Tires are good and ready to roll.

Check out the pics.

You must see this in person to appreciate the work that has already been completed. Max would be proud.

Rain gutter front bumper. What a great imagination.

If this was repainted with some shadowing it would really pull the detail out of this body.

Conduit running from the top down the front drip rail is a great touch. Turn signal placement is right on.

Side bracing has already been added.

What beautiful rivet and sheet metal work in Mad Max style.

Every area of this body had been modified in the Mad Max style.

Are you starting to get the image? Feeling inspired?

Ummmm...no.

Sick Sick Sick

Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Thank you

My day would not have been complete without this.

Every line of this guy's ad begs for comment, so I'll just say thanks
