be immediately followed by these pics! You guys are nuts! I'm praying there's only a little of this (relatively speaking) hiding on mine.

It’s funny now that I look at it, but it is in way better shape than the last two that I have worked on. It doesn’t even need a roof or a chassis! |

I made a little more progress today. I found a few holes in the frame by the right side forward outrigger, so I cleaned them up and welded them shut. I also cut back the walkthru bases where they connect to the top hat to prep for repair. I also cut back the bottom edge of the floor and replaced it. I welded the easy part. I’ll weld the underside once we put the bus on the rotisserie.

I decided to move to the back end for now. The rotisserie I am using bolts partially to where the rear apron bolts to, and this bus needs them repaired. I started by cleaning and degreasing. I staightened out the back edge of the tranny cradle, and started cutting back the rust:

More engine bay prepping yesterday:
We are likely going to cut the frame ends back, and replace the D Pillar triangles. I did not want to cut them out until I had the replacement pieces ready to go back in.
Today's carnage:
I am working on removing the E brake lever pin and E brake lever. Hopefully that will be out tomorrow. |

No worries. That's what happens. There is plenty left to build on. I parked it in the healing pile for a few days while we do some maintenance on the 15 Window. I'm hoping that when I get back t it, the front valance will tell me it will be OK and doesn't need to be chopped out. We'll see! |

We made some more progress:
These frame ends are from Schofields, and they are nice! |

We made some more progress! The owner brought up a bunch of metal that he prepped:
It’s fun to have a big pile of metal to play with, but nothing beats having it arrive ready to install. Thanks Matt!
The left rear frame end is done. We also fixed a few other spots:
The D pillar will be going in shortly, as will the rear apron brackets.

More progress. We had a small frame end repair on the passenger side. Then we were able to get the D pillars done:
The chassis needed to be sand blasted, and last time I did this, I did it in the shop. That was awful, so since we have the rotisserie here, and I have a trailer:
Getting there! Still a bunch of blasting left, but we are on it!
One small note: After I welded a nut on to the passenger side D pillar triangle, blasted, metal prepped, master coated, punched holes, welded in, and grinded the welds, I noticed that the indented hole in the center is pressed the wrong way. I am not sure how I missed this, or how this happened at all. |
