Wow. Did you read their feedback? You would have to be pretty stupid to do anything with these guys. YEars of shitty feedback. Its like a 10 to 1 ratio of bad to good. They shouldn't be allowed to have access to the samba imho. _________________

[email protected] in CA has a good reputation for welded dropped spindles as he has jigs made up for them. $450 exchange? _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Since they've been out of production for over 10 years, is it OK to start calling my low-numbered BerT3 dropped spindles "NOS" yet? |

will keep looking for a supplier this side of the atlantic, otherwise it appears oldspeed is the way to go. after looking through the vvd reviews i wouldn't go near them, seems like much of what they do is not only dishonest but downright dangerous. |

One thing to note about Oldspeed drum spindles is they aren’t made to work with early pinwheel drums...yet. Russell is going to rework a set I had made to work with the smaller drums. |

I've been curious about this as well. The only drop spindles I could find are the vintage v-dubs ones as well. But considering the reviews on here, I will not be getting those. I've read lowering your car with the torsion bars isn't the best for your suspension parts. Are drop spindles the best way to get a little drop and a bit more of a sporty handling experience? |

I hear the Russ at OldSpeed makes them. I called but it looks like he's out of town for a bit. I will try again next week and follow up here. _________________ Frank

not in my opinion. If you are only wanting a mild drop, 2 maybe 3 splines and smaller front tires will be fine on your suspension. you'll even be able to use the stock oil shocks, have a great feeling ride, and looks good.
some of us are even blasphemous and lower otherwise completely stock type 3's and 34's a spline just to get rid of the nose high look _________________ Stop dead photo links! Post your photos to The Samba Gallery!

just an FYI these "barndoor shocks" are generally better makes than the empi "lowered bug shocks". That 5752 Number is the key, Monroe has them too, the monroe 5752 (probably the same as the napa shock)
I had to re-use the metal bushing from the old shocks on my oval when I used these _________________ Stop dead photo links! Post your photos to The Samba Gallery! |
