Damn sexy! Best of luck with the sale.
The way it came out looks amazing. the paint blend is top notch.
Someone sent me photos of the headliner from HO. Did you weather it to make it look original?
I had to go back through this thread to see that the headliner was non-existent when you purchased it. _________________

Thanks !
Indeed I aged the new headliner to look like original and I'm quite happy with the result :

If you still have it, are you going to restore your 50? |

Kudos for your commitment to completing it to such a high “stock” standard. I too hope it returns to Canada! |

Last week have been very stressfull 'cause the container arrived in France, but the customs didn't want to let the bus enter in the country.
They said it was only a junk, unrestorable, and as we can't import junks it will have to be destroyed ( ).... I have had to convince the chief of the customs department of Le Havre that this bus has a huge historical value and a lot of potential and after a few days it's have been accepted
It's now arrived at home and it's a huge pleasure to finally see it here...

I hope you drove back to show the customs guys. _________________ I want a real garage.

Awesome video.
Definitely watch that full screen and not in the little in-line version seen above, it's so much better. |
Thanks ! And also pump up the volume

Ahah !
The custom guy is the least of my worries to be honest. But few years ago when the bus was close to be finished I tried to contact Bill, the previous owner from 1956 to 2012, because I promessed that one day I would show him the bus fully restored, but it was too late already.... Bill died few years ago
I can even see on Google Earth that his backyard, which was loaded with 200+ car wrecks (including some beetles), is now empty Hope they have not been crushed...
Big thoughts to him

Everything was crushed on site after he passed, nothing was saved, not a single part. I think your Bus is the only vehicle he ever sold. _________________ '60 Canadian Standard, '64 Bug, '66 Bug, '66 Bus, '69 Sunroof Bug, '71 Super, '72 Super, '73 Canadian Custom, '73 Super, '74 Love Bug, '83 Mexi Bug, '94 Mexi Bug, '99 New Beetle, '02 New Beetle Turbo S.
