Here are some examples of the Silver Beige Paint I had mixed recently. It was matched using a NOS turn signal unit. I feel it was a very good match and looks great.

OK. I found it. I was looking for Silver Beige code L466 for my steering column and seat frames. I wanted it in a durable single stage urethane. Your BASF dealer can mix it in 3 different lines. Expensive, Super expensive and cheap. I went with cheap. It's still catalized urethane but is Limco supreme plus # MS717846. It came with VW L466 used from 1958 thru 1966 on the label. They mailed it to me since I don't have any Glasurit/BASF dealers nearby. The Centari number listed here is wrong. Centari didn't use letters and the number listed for the Glasurit is also wrong. It's a number for some kind of literature. Oh and the fly-by-night PPG girl was way wrong. That Gabun Grey is for 1980's and not even close.
This was like $30 plus shipping.

So after a bit of a run-around, I went to the local Glasurit dealer, and he had the formula for L466 Silver Beige. He mixed me up a sample and my paint shop matched it - job done...

That didn't work for me - way too beige looking... I know this is an old thread but has anyone found the correct formula? Glasuit AD2224 work?

Thx,

I know this thread is old, but you wouldn't happen to have the Sherwin Williams code would you? Laughing

Thanks! -D

Great, thanks. That is a promissing lead. Otherwise I'll just send my parts your way to get rid of part of that gallon LOL.

i just painted the exterior of my car silver beige -- a beautiful shade. the painters had a hard time finding a code and ended up matching the paint to the wolfsburgwest spray-can paint (computer, then visually). matching tot he available WW color was actually sort of nice, because in the even of a nick or scratch, i'll have a handy supply of touchup.

You can oder the paint directly from PPG. They can even sell you a 12oz spray can.

That cool but Silver Beige is an interior color, like the steering column.

I only see exterior colors there

Exactly.

Anyone know the best person at WW to contact to try to get the paint code? Think they will provide it since it might cut into their rattle can sales?

Richard, it would be great if you would post the formula here and forward it to Everett so he can note it in the color charts pages. Save the rest of us from having to pay for a color match.

Thanks.

I am hoping to get my own paint mixed up. I'll see if they are willing to let go with the modern mixing code.
