I've gathered what I think is the correct hardware for the rear seat base for my 1963 DC. The hold downs are identical to fuel tank hold downs except for the hole.
The washers that were on the bus when we got it are DIN 9021 fender washers. I wonder if there is a lock washer or spring washer too?
As was mentioned, the bolts are M8 x 25.

M8x25. Bolts are measured from the bottom of the head to the end.

How long are the carriage bolts for a 1963 seat base? M8 x ???

Can someone reload these pics showing how the pedestal is mounted. I am trying to remount my rear seat pedestal like it was originally.

Ok. So here's a few pics:
(The yellow is just foam that the previous owner had glued to the original Vinyl when he had "reupholstered" the seats with the horrific green cloth seen on the seat... )

M8 is the size. As per the square portion, well, it's the size that fits in the slot. Are you sure the metal with the slot in the floor isnt messed up some how? My hardware doesnt look anything special. |
No, I think it was just because I had 3/8" bolts and M8 is closer to 5/16".

I went and took the following picture of the hardware and did notice I had the plates in their correct position.

I thinking 59 and 60 are on the iside, it said something like that on dropegates

Are those plate on backwards? I thought the lip was supposed to go on the outside, so the clamp was level.
