Gotcha covered, from Dec. 2021. Here are a few more shots from my gallery (again)-
Some notes: The Engine 51 emergency team work to get a trapped driver (Ronnie Schell) out of his black Beetle. Barely visible are what appear to be 1966 slotted wheels, but the steering wheel is white (thru '65), and the driver's front blinker lens is clear vs the right front which is amber. |

Red early 1960's Ghia Cabrio, YouTube pop-up commercial "American Classic Insurance" (2025). My guess is a '64, due to the blinker and sun visor styles.
Dark green late Ghia Coupe, music video Pat Benatar "I'm gonna follow you" (1980).
Composite shot of white early '60's (white steering wheel) Ghia Coupe in a junkyard in central California, David Freiburger YouTube video "1600 mile parts run" mid-Oct. 2025.

How about... VWs NOT in movies?
Despite the German-focussed cars in the movie F1 (Porsche and AMG), the writers chose a Ford van instead of a VW Bus for the Baja sequence. Missed opportunity! |
