This is a link to the top.

I have decided to add it to the Doka that is being packed up, it does appear to need some TLC but nothing too major or unexpected for a truck topper this old. _________________ "Driving is just an extension of your personality" -Ari Vatanen |

Hello All, I have a Doka on the way (granted its a 2WD auto but couldn't find that thread ) and have the opportunity to get a vindic top added to it. I don't particularly care for the look of it and likely not on this particular truck. Are any interested parties looking for one while I already have a vehicle being loaded up? Local pick up would be in SF Bay Area. Thanks and I will follow up with a photo of it once it gets to me. |

That looks great. Love the blue color as well, like my former Single Cab, which also had the low version Vindic top.

Quick pic of the 4th door conversion. Smithprocess did the dirty work, and I hacked at the body filler and paint job. Door clip was from a black Tristar via Lars, so nice to have a Tristar door with the reinforcement for the arm rest. Paint was supposed to match mittleblau, but will have to redo it at some point. But door works great, and I use it ALL the time, so great mod.

I need to drop my gas tank to do repairs to support the gas tank straps- fun . I wandered over to VC and they dropped this in my hand. I was tickled that it actually said that it is for a syncro doka and obviously german. Chris also walked over to me with one installed in place of a van filler neck to housing seal and the dimensions were correct but the seal was slightly different.

Very cool. I had to order this one from Lars in Germany when I rebuilt my tank.
I sent VW Classics a note to see if they can send me a picture of the Transporter logo. Would you happen to have a picture of this logo on a truck?

I am rebuilding my Single cab and it has the same filler location as the doka. The rubber seal that goes around the filler neck at the outer body seems to be different than the one GoWesty sells. Is the gasket pictured by the OP above correct for that location, the GoWesty one won't fit? _________________ 1978 Sage Green P22 Westfalia

Well Gang I thought I would give an update...Awhile back I was asking for some info about the Doka engine hatch strut. Some members chimed in with some photos and info. Turns out I was able to get the hatch strut from VanCafe and sourced a small mounting bracket from one of the GoWesty lift assist kits for the Westfalia camper.
This little bracket, with a strut mounting ball, was easily installed on the battery tray.
Now my hatch opens up and stays open! No longer do I need to carry around my special prop stick, or keep the hatch open with my head when I am checking fluids, or battery voltage.
Thanks to all that helped me out!

Thats a beautiful Orange Doka!
Revisiting my quest for a Doka engine hatch strut bracket. I found a diagram, the part is not numbered, but you can see it on the passenger side of the hatch.
https://campervanculture.com/shop/vw-t25-t3-sikado...gallery]/2
If I can find the OG part that would be great, if not, I was looking at my GoWesty lift assist, (on my Van) and the bracket that attaches to the roof looks like it could work.
I doubt that the OG strut bracket is available anywhere other than a VW scrap yard...if anyone has access to these things. Thanks! _________________ 1987 2wd Westy "Vanny" 2.5 RMW Subaru

I just wrapped up the restoration of a Syncro Jadgwagen I did for a client of mine. I have thousands of photos of the entire process. The scope of the entire project was HUGE so it's hard to sum up over one post. The truck received a large amount of NOS body panels. The entire bed is essentially 60% NOS replacement panels from VW.
It was a fun project and I learnt a lot about the overal design of transporters. When I have the time I would like to sit down and start a thread to showcase all the work I did, and provide a insight for how these trucks are assembled as reference if someone chooses to restore a doka themselves. Until I get around to that I would invite anyone interested to see all my photos on my google drive: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1DTQOoMh46EJqM8XNeJJfLt1t-YCr2uqq?usp=drive_link
