They fit like the late bus logo. Looks silly on a flat surface. Back side is convex. The sides will be unsupported if you put them on an older hatch. _________________ BenT |

Woah! Can you photoshop that pic a little? FWIW, I still have that gem in a box somewhere, having still not put together a project that has the proper rear lid to mount it! (Are you sure it wasn't '02?) |
Hey Karl,
Sorry, I was on the road at the time and only had the link to that one pic. collusion between iPhone and Google, probably which keeps me from re-saving pic on my phone to Photoshop the grin out. I can edit later when I'm at a laptop. I thought that was '03 but my memory isn't so good these days. Likewise, I never replaced my early hatch to allow installation of one.
I hope that's more to your liking Karl. Performed the Marie Antoinette Photoshop modification on you. BTW, yes Nov. 29, 2002 is correct. Van-O-Rama #2 _________________ BenT

Yeah it has been a while, I am not surprised that you forget. I have asked about it at a few Van-o-ramas since then too.

Karl has a look like "gee thanks but I wouldn't put that on my Van even if it made it go fast." |

SyncroDoka,
I do not recall you asking me. But I did find an old posting you had on one of the forums in 2006. You know what a messy housekeeper I am from seeing what I leave stored in my Dokas. I am in the process of organizing my two storage containers and will sell all kinds of weird and unusual parts. Hoarding can only be tolerated so much. I'm ready to liquidate -- soon. _________________ BenT |

I've a number of inquiries concerning the LED emblems. Sorry to answer inquiries on the thread instead of PM. I will have some for sale but it will take me time to dig them out the 40-foot container I have them stored in. It's a mess in there. I will post them for sale as soon as I locate them.
Thanks, _________________ BenT |

This is the LED lit VW logo emblem mentioned earlier in this thread. I bought several dozens of these when they were available from Brazil. The various vendors selling them stopped carrying the inventory for what I can only assume due to the item having gone out of production. They fit in the recess of the late model Vanagons perfectly. I have a few more left like the one Karl Mullendore is holding. That was his Long Distance prize for coming all the way from Gapland, MD to San Francisco, CA to attend Van-O-Rama #3 in 2003.

The smart (ahem...) tuners around here put toggle switches on their lighting effects. On for when one is trying to impress the girls in front of the malt shop, but off for everything else.
Or so I'm told...

Bummer,
then they should ticket everyone of those tools with "blue" hid bulbs in their reflector housings. |

Any blue light on a vehicle in any location is illegal in most states. As stated, they are reserved for emergency vehicles only. _________________ 89 Westy 2.1 Auto |

Well, the party is over. It was fun while it lasted.
Coming home late last night, I was pulled over because of the blue accent light. Blue is frowned upon in the state of VA, as it is reserved for emergency vehicles.
Ready to accept the ticket, he walked up front and took a look at it. That's when he noticed I was running a euro plate instead of the required front plate.
When he came back from his car he asked about my new exhaust leak.
I received no tickets, but got a long lecture on how even though I won't be as "cool" I would need to remedy these items. About half way into the conversation, I realized that I was receiving the same neon/exhaust/front plate lecture I expected a Fast and Furious teenager would have had after being pulled over in his Integra.
I'm glad my wife held her laughter in while I was speaking to the officer.
