Cool I sorted it!. They kind of solution you love at the time but secretly think will come back to haunt you. I put the hazard warning lights on then off and problem solved. Horn now works only when it feels like it. I won't sleep properly tonight now.

Pass the inspection by the way!! Wooo Hooo

Hi guys,

I wonder if anyone can help. I plugged my speedo back in today. I had numbered all the cables and the connectors so I'm pretty sure its all wired up ok, but there isa problem with the indicators. The <-> light is on all the time and the indicators don't work. Could I have blown a fuse whilst fiddling around with this? Would a blown fuse cause the permanent <-> light on. Or have I stuffed it up good?

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

Thanks for posting these pics but as you can see on my image the lights are in different places on the dial. I also prefer the G symbol rather than the battery pic. How much are your dials by the way? I could be interested in one once I've got this through the inspection. I just don't think it would get to me in time.

Cheers

Here is the final version back from the photo store. I'll have to see how it fits on the dial but I'm pretty happy with the result. I saw online a kph dial for my model so have moved things a little (bars for the 30,50 etc...) and changed the font to lowercase for the "km/h" Decided to leave on it the little red bars and other lines to give it a bit more of a real look.
I'd love to use the dial with the lady but here in Spain they would go through the car with a fine tooth comb if it looks anything but stock. If you lower or "tune" your car in any way here, you have to go and get an official certificate from a certified engineer that the car is road worthy.

Cheers for the tips guys.

Well here is the first test version. I'll need to tweak it a little to fit at the top, but even if I do say so myself it looks pretty good. I'll do a decent matt colour print of the final version and if it works I'll send the post the image for whoever needs it.

if you dont have any luck with it there are companies around that make the indiglo style face plates. the one here in aus makes them in kph but its for the 160kmh/100mph speedos

Office Max or Depot carries the full page sticky page. just print it out with your home printer.

I wonder if you can get waterproof laser shipping labels in larger sizes anymore, I've made adhesive decals on that kind of thing before, went to Kinkos and rented a computer upload my images and sent them to their best laser machine which they had set up properly to print on the label sheets I supplied them.

I was thinking of getting the image processed by a photo lab. On matte paper. Not sure how long that could last though!
