Cleaned out the bus last Thursday, so here's some more pics.
Battery Sticker by sstorholm, on Flickr
A cool battery sticker, since the bus came without a battery from the factory (M-Code 008) they probably fitted this domestic battery at the dealer. It says "This car has been fitted with a "Pakkas" battery", which is probably some kind of freeze proof battery (pakkas means freeze in Finnish).
Cans and Bottles by sstorholm, on Flickr
Here's a shot of all the cans and bottles that we found while cleaning out the car, most of them were under the front seat. The Mobil can is still half full with SAE 30 oil, so I guess I saved some money on oil right there.
Gearbox by sstorholm, on Flickr
The gear box sitting in the back of the bus along with the 2 IRS shafts. The starter is still missing so I'll have to get one of those as well. Can anyone tell me what kind of transmission this is and what size flywheel, clutch and pressure plate it takes?
Cool Sticker by sstorholm, on Flickr
Another cool sticker, says something about sports and summer, some kind of sporting event probably.
Rust Proofed? by sstorholm, on Flickr
This one almost killed me and my mates when we discovered it. It says, in Finnish "This car has been corrosion proofed. All lower areas prone to rust have been treated. Good Volkswagen Journey!" Seems to be an authentic VW dealer sticker.
Untitled by sstorholm, on Flickr
Notice how nicely the interior cleaned up and how good the seat was under that leopard seat cover!
Dashboard by sstorholm, on Flickr
Closeup on the dash.
Untitled by sstorholm, on Flickr
Looking happy after it's first TLC in 15 years.
A whole bunch of crap by sstorholm, on Flickr
All the crap that cleaned out of the bus, including a sofa that seems to work on the same principle as a rock&roll bed. _________________

Except that mine came without an battery and with a steering lock. Cool that you found it's older sister, are you gonna paint it velvet green as well? |
You mean without battery and steering lock from factory? how can you tell? (absolut newbie here)
Oh, I wish I could paint it and everything else... but she's not mine yet!
I will keep a close watch on this "little sister", good luck my friend |

Awesome!
The one I want to buy has exact specs as yours, color, interiors, engine, m codes... rolled out the factory line just one month before and delivered to Oslo, Norway

Hell of a tow with a volvo. Nice work. |
Well, for the 1000 km trip we used my fathers V70, which is 300 kg lighter but it has 50 more BHP than mine. |
I can add that doing 60 mph in a car that weighs about 1500 kg, with a bus and a 1000 kg trailer behind it, isn't very fun. _________________

Nope, my avatar is some old hippie standing in the middle of his ganja field looking smug. A friend sent it to me saying that that's what I'm gonna look like when I'm 60, so I started using it as an avatar. _________________

My thoughts exactly, we'll have to see when I get the M-Plate decoded.
Anyhow, as for final plans, I'm kinda thinking of putting a rock-and-roll bed in the back, and make a nice party/festival van out of it. The point is though that everything will be made to look like it's stock or close to stock. _________________

I would think so, or something close based on the color on the dash. _________________ MAKE FORUMS GREAT AGAIN

What's really bugging me is that I forgot to take a picture of the M-Plate, and now I'm 500 km away from the bus (studying in Helsinki, bus is in Pietarsaari where I'm from). So I can't decode it and find out if there's anything interesting going with this bus. Except the early euro towbar. _________________
