it's here in san diego, l spent a couple of hours with it this afternoon.
she threw the blower belt, which took out the other two.
there are a few other issues that need to be dealt with, some more serious than others.
coolant leaks etc.
and right now she runs VERY poorly
so l'm going to have to learn how megasquirt works. _________________ markswagen {mobile mechanic} san diego area all early VW's cared for.

There are a few exceptions but "getting through SMOG" has to be done upon initial registration in the state and then every 2 years plus every ownership change in between.
A Calif SELLER has a legal obligation to provide a current smog certificate when they sell to a consumer in the state.
The smog certificates expire 90 day after the test.
The seller can write "sold as is" but that doesn't override their smog obligation in Calif even if the buyer agrees to it.

I'd love to hear about how this worked out. Wonder if anyone did a dyno test?

All,
Thank you very much for the kind words! This project has been a lot of fun over the years and it has been great getting everyone's input.
Also, while I am sad that the Syncro is going away, I do hope she goes to a good home that will appreciate it. Unfortunately with the massive business changes underway for me, I need to free up capital. While stressful, it will all work out in the end.
Thanks Again,

Hi All,
Sorry for the lack of updates, but unfortunately, I have to sell her:

I'm wondering too. Thinking about adding the amr500 supercharger to my WBX. Let us know how your project turned out. Thanks |

Hungry for input...
Is it running yet?
How is it?
Boost, hp, torque etc.
You got my curiosity... |

I am using IDAPro for Digifant, but it is a Motorola MC68HC11. IDAPro doesn't seem to have settings for the Intel MCS-48 MCU |

I don't think you can add boost through a AFM. You would want a MAP or MAF based system, from either an OEM swap (80's Volvo or SAAB Bosch LH 2.2 - as prev noted), or an aftermarket EFI. |
I'm not sure how many know this, but the Corrado and Passat G60's are a supercharged engine that use a MAP sensor and their ECU's are almost identical to the "D" version ECU (also 28 pin). I have disassembled the code in both versions and the "D" version Digifant ECU's used in the 2.1's uses a subset of the code that is in the G60 digifant ECU's. The G60 Digifant ECU also uses a knock sensor with cylinder selective control for advance and knock, so timing can be different for each cylinder. It controls the idle via the Idle solenoid valve which is closed loop, by adjusting fuel and timing. Also, for those that are skeptical about the capabilities of the G60 Digifant ECU (once you have figured it out), I know of a person in Germany that is running out of fuel running E85, 1000 cc injectors and a big Turbo. His Corrado out performs Porsches on the autobahn.
Also, this fellow has an open sourced project that adds a boost controller that is gear selective, adds 6 EGT inputs, 2 map sensors, wideband input, and on and on. you can read about it here:
