I need help identifying these parts. Looks like the glovebox lid is ghia, but not sure what years. The housing looks to be the same color as the lid so I’m assuming it’s also ghia? But not sure what it is since I’m not too knowledgeable with ghias. Please help me out. I’m also looking to sell these so that’s why I am asking. |

Thanks so much for the reply.
Where does it send the warm air, and what doesn’t work if it’s missing?
Edit: looks like it’s a pre-heating tube. Sends warm air to the air cleaner to preheat the air being drawn in. Does that sound right?
Edit: and then i found this!!!

Thanks for giving me a direction to go.

Hey all.
What’s this hose for? I’m looking at a car which has a port for it on the engine but the hose is not there.
Thanks!

Those little plates go on the doors and cover the ends of the hinges. I believe 60 was the last year to use them. You should have two per door. |

I thought that too at first but these are 10mm bolts, the parts book says 8mm. Probably not VW |

I found these bolts (M10x1.5mm) with parts from a car with an 11/55 front end and the back from a 10/56 car. I've looked through the parts book but can't find them. Anyi ideas |

I suspect the wood grain laminate has been remove and the dash painted, or it's possible that a black laminate was put on over the metal dash after The black dash started in 1972 through the final year of production in 1974. if you look at the back side of the dash, from the front trunk, you should be able to see what was done. Look for the holes for the insignia. Looks like the inside top of your doors got the same treatment. Also check the back side of the glove box door. You might see overlap of the black laminate or maybe just paint? _________________ Marc

Here's a pic of my dash.
No wood grain laminate, it appears to be some kind of sheet metal.
Humorously it has a Maine state quarter in the middle of the glove box knob. I bought from a man in Maine. As amusing as it is to me, I'm going to get a locking knob so it will have to go. _________________ Why is the rum gone?!

Thanks! My dash has no opening for a radio, is that usual? Seems odd to have nothing at all. The dash is probably aftermarket if I had to guess. |
If your dash is original, you should have a wood grain laminate and at least have holes from where an emblem used to be. Since you don't seem to have existing holes, your dash must have been recovered. An original dash that has never had a radio would look like pictures 27 & 31 in this link.
