Randy (the tent owner) upgraded to the 23 window of lanterns- the Gold Bond model. Gold Bonds have a built in alarm for people who get too close to them and a fire suppression if they get too hot.
That tent is ready for the GBS 2nd annual Gold Bond lighting party. |
Gold Bonds are played out...it's all about the propane lanterns now...propane and propane accessories. _________________ Turbo_g

I love this picture. You are an inspiration. I just reread your thread and love that your son grew up with your bus’s and now an owner of your so42. Btw I love the color combo too.

Took a hella long time to “save”, but to be sure, it was just a bare shell with the sub hatch. Nothing else in it! |
Ivan, you remember it did have the wardrobe and the cabinet behind the wardrobe...you did some <achem> "modifications" to the closet in a frantic race to get it camping ready, with the bay window westy bed...for the first trip to...Havasu I believe...with the motor that made so much noise LOL. _________________ Turbo_g

Haha! Yes Barry, that is Kyle, last time you saw him, he was a toddler...might have been at Aqua Caliente campout, around 2004 or 2005...
Been such a short-long time...anyone with adult children knows what I mean.
Cheers,

So, another update, if you read through this entire thread, that started almost 2 decades ago, you would see some pictures of my son...he was a toddler just out of diapers when I drug this bus home from the desert, he went through years of calling it "his bus" and even did some work on it over the years with me. He is graduating from the University of Utah in May, his graduation present is the red and white 1966 SO-42 Tin Top in this picture. He likes to say he was born and raised in a bus, it's almost true. I have a wonderful young man as a son, and a partner to share my VW addiction and my old age with camping, fishing, hiking and driving an old VW bus with my boy. How lucky can a guy get?

Truly awesome. Buses are all about fun, and you have certainly done well having fun with your bus. Definitely worth saving. _________________ .
