I friend of mine who developed a cool clothing line asked if she could use the SC in a photo shoot for her catalogue using models from Brazil. How could I say no. The guy with the birds can be seen on the Waikiki strip regularly entertaining tourist. His birds were very friendly but the models were skeptical about handling them. Nice day at the park.

Well it is getting there. Decided to leave the patina and just drive it. The old crusty look is appealing. All 4 rusty hub caps for $5.00!

Found a used pointed front bumper, installed the safari's. At the shop getting a safety inspection, next plates.

Generally the Blue with green wire goes to the oil pressure switch, the white with red wire should go to the + (bottom) of the bulbm and the bulb holder is grounded on the decklid itself.

I know you said you have it worked out so the light works, but does the oil pressure switch work?

Is that a single filament bulb??

If it is, that type of bulb needs a ground to one of the bottom contacts, and positive to the other to work. Does not need positive or negative to the brass base.

Yes it is a single filament bulb with two contacts at the bottom. Someone before me had placed the wrong bulb for the license plate light. I just took it down to the auto parts store and got a replacement. Unfortunately the wrong replacement. I returned the bulb for a single filament/single contact bulb and all is well. Now I just need to ground my taillight buckets and I am all set.

Thanks

Thanks very much. I read your thread on license light holders, very informative.

Well, I am stumped! This darn bulb won't light up. I have power and ground with a new bulb. ? Should this bulb only have a single contact on the bottom? This one has two, just like the original I pulled out to replace. Each contact on the bottom is receiving power. I cleaned the corrosion from all the grounding contacts.

Idea's

That is a big change in climate. Congrats. Hawaii has a huge VW culture. If you will be there next weekend they have the big Shaka VW car show.

It looks like a 66-67 long-base wiper arm except for the bent end.

Normally the arm is complete flat too - it sort of looks like round stock where it's bent into a curve

Thanks for the search input. Someone may have bent it to fit a more conventional type blade. There was a goodyear plastic wiper on it.

Can someone please confirm that this is indeed a 1967 wiper arm and is correct for my SC. This is the only one that came with the SC when I bought it. I have seen some in the classified section claiming to be 1967 but don't resemble what I have.

Thanks!

Most excellent!!

Do slide under in the next day or two, so you can check for any seeps at all the lines joints and the brake backing plates. Hopefully all will be nice and dry!
