The center arms rest for the rear set was an accessory for the 1302 and 1303 models. It wasn't taken from any other model. A 1302 and 1303 were Super Beetle models seen in Europe. I don't know if this model number was exported to the USA or Canada,

When the Beetle's specifications were first requested (by you-know-who), the car was supposed to seat two adults in the front--and two children in the back.

So, in the initial planning, the bug's legroom for those sitting in the back, was not much of an issue back in the 1930s.

Although, back then, no one expected our kids to live with us until they were in their mid-thirties.

Interesting!
Never saw such an option.....

My first thought that due to the lack of real legroom, the arm rest would seriously interfere with comfort when sitting sideways on the seat!

Strange how some People make statements like "not original" and so on, when they don't know it for a fact. What's the point in doing that?

Congrats on Your super rare back seat! Very Happy

No, not of that. a beetle, but thanks.

Thank you Alex857- you know what a beetle looks like. Cool M-code. It looks really easy to modify a bug seat with that option. I feel a mod coming on...

Sorry, must have had the wrong glasses on. Thought I was posting OP picture. Or having a duh moment.
