That Sting Ray is a '65 or '66 big block with factory side exhausts. That domed hood was only used those 2 model years. |

Square headlamp Rabbits are American made, the round headlamp types are imports as I recall. I think the American ones were built in Pennsylvania. |
Yes, that’s a 1980 Westmoreland Pa built rabbit. 1981-84 rabbits & trucks had the turn signals/side markers just to the outside of the headlights. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

I will go on a road trip, see thousands of cars and usually can count with one or two fingers the number of cars I see that are as old as what I am driving.
I drove 450 miles of crowded highway for Thanksgiving and saw one older car than my car. A classic late 60s or 70s ? Chevy lifted pick up, short bed, 35 inch MT tires, orange and white paint, very nice
My newest car is 1990. My oldest 1958. lots of 60s and 70s cars in between
That is my Vanagon gage cluster on my dash top. VW content _________________ Sorry About That Chief.

When I moved to MD in 2013, there seemed to be a lot of old Mazda pick ups around. Now, I never see them. _________________ 1973 standard, yellow, lowered, 3” narrowed front, 1600 blo-thru turbo w/single dell 15.4@86, so far

Definitely out of the ordinary ... at least in this century. Honestly can't remember the last time I saw one in any condition in the San Diego area. They were everywhere in SoCal in the 80's. You'd think enough would have survived that there'd be at least an occasional sighting. ACVW's seem to have more staying power. |
I also drive a 1988 B2200 Mazda truck, Arizona, purchased in 1994. I haven't seen one of these 1986-1993 B2200 or B2600 trucks on the road here in about 3 years now....
Yes, very rare to see a VW Type1 on the roads here these days.... _________________ 1970 VW (owned since 1972) and 1971 VW Convertible (owned since 1976), second owner of each. never heard of singer
by a weird coincidence last tuesday I went for a walk around Kingston Maurward in dorset, about 4 miles from my house, and came across this blue plaque as it's the birthplace (1847) of George Singer founder of the company

Not out in the wild, but a couple of oddballs in the Klinik for some love:
Italian Stallion and a V8 Dino.
54 Singer. I never heard of it either. Hand built aluminum body over ash wood frame.

I saw two yesterday. One was a perfectly restored late 40’s Ford Woody with 60s era surf boards on top. Driver look to be original owner.
The second one was one of those Waymo self driving cars by Zeekr. The news here in San Diego keeps saying they are coming, but they’re already here. This one was near the airport. |
