Yeah! Keep your eyes open for updates. We’re going to work out something. It’ll also be an event of Facebook. _________________ 1960 Dove Blue Kombi

Considering that it's a self-supportive event, I don't see why you guys shouldn't plan. It's not like they closed down all the roads in Colorado. Fist bumps instead of hugs and you should be good to go.

I'm not the one to make the call here, however Gunnison County just extended their lockdown until end of May ( and have indicated a willingness to extend that through summer). The ski towns got hit hard with this situation. Who knows what will be open during the summer, planning will be tough. _________________ Fat chick owner/operator |

Oh man! You missed out. Would have camped in the back of the double if it wasn't crammed full of parts, tools, and gear. Pulled a 1964 Heilite camp trailer behind and the whole family was cozy.
Thanks again to Rich and all involved - another great trip! We headed east from Gunnison back to Charlotte, NC.
Camped at John Martin Lake SP near Lamar, CO Sunday night, Falls Lake SP in SE Kansas Monday night, Hoteled in Paducah, KY Tuesday night and got home late Wednesday...back in the land of the pines. Until next time! _________________ MonkeyNut VW - www.monkeynutvw.com

Hold on... whose is that Neptune Blue double cab? Edit: Looks like volksheads...
I ended up not going in mine because 1) my wife wanted to go camping with me one last weekend this summer (in the RV, not the truck), and 2) I had no provisions for camping in the DC, and figured it would rain. Did I wimp out? volksheads, did you camp in the back under the canopy?
Looks like you guys had a great time. _________________ John

Another great weekend, bid thanks to all who attended!!!
This year we had 8 buses and 2 double cabs attend. I showed up around 5ish on Friday and the guys had a nice spot picked out. The water did creep in on us but we survived. Saturday we got on the road around 10ish and headed to Ouray where we got a tour and tasting at JW Rovers Distillery and had lunch. Johns hospitality was amazing and his distillery was beautiful, the spirits really packed a punch. Lots of rain during this part of the trip. From Ouray we cruised to Ridgway, got fuel and did some thrift store shopping. From there we went up and over Owl Creek Pass and found an awesome camp area big enough for all us just past Silver Jack reservoir. Sunday morning we packed up and headed north to Rt 50. Here some of the people broke off to head home. Bob, Greg and myself headed south on a fun dirt road for 27 or so miles. There was some damage on the road with a few gnarly sections. We headed to Lake City and had some lunch. Sunday night we found an awesome camp spot on Lake San Cristable.
My family and I are still on the road for 6 more nights.
Big that’s to everyone who attended!!! _________________ __________

jwrover's distillery is not to be missed, be sure to stop by if you are passing thru Ouray.
Thanks for the hospitality and high quality spirits!

It's about 8 hours for is and want to do it best to meet there but I'll look up the road and meet there if we miss the lead out. _________________ In search of a Vanagon
