Maybe now you won't end up like all the old Tin top owners out there.

Only a single M8 bolt on that rear apron? I thought early Bays had a set of 4?
Enjoy it!! _________________ .ssS! |

Late 71's have 2 bolts (?) , one on each side. I guess they saved .3 cents per vehicle so the staff could get a good efficiency report..how German! _________________ Fat chick owner/operator |

I think it's the Westy that scored.
You'll be giving it a new life.
Congrats to the both of you! _________________ -Kent-

I had to check and see it wasn't the one (tintop) at the WHole foods store in town.

Hello,
Cool find.
You have most of the camper interior there, spicerack, panel and light for over the table missing. That handle on the icebox door is a bitch to fix. I like the storage shelves under the dash. Looks like some good bones to start with...
The engine compartment looks OK, just need the correct carb and distributor. At least the POs didn't cut the air cleaner stand off..
Oh, don't make the mistake I did and paint the fan shroud, if you can help it... I dig the OG builders paint stamps..
And, yes the 71Bus only has the two bolts for the rear valance, another 71 only year thing...
Once again, nice find.
It looks somewhat dry, any rust on the underside? |

Looks pretty solid, You may find a "jay" or 2 of mexi-brick stashed in the closet ( no doubt they traded a hemp necklace and a toasted cheese for a 1/4 oz back in the day ). You know the drill, get that sucker back on the road!!!
I used to be the roving VW mechanic for the area about 20 years ago, met some great folks in Mancos and Cortez. Was I young once?? I can barely remember... _________________ Fat chick owner/operator |

the linoleum floor looks original, I hope you can get it cleaned up enough to save! Does it have a westy tag on the dogleg?
It all looks pretty dry so you're way ahead of the game on bodywork! _________________ Robert in Memphis

Nice candidate. Throw a set of wiper blades on her and she’s ready to roll. Rich, I have lots of parts for that. Let me know if I can help. _________________ Lead Mechanic: San Diego Air and Space Museum
