What a day! I’ve known about this DC for the last 13 years. The owner didn’t want to sell it and when he finally decided to he wanted too much money. Then the owner passed and I let it be known that I was interested. Quite some time went by and I thought it was gone. But, last week I got a call asking if I was still interested. My wife and I went to look at it. After a thorough inspection and sending her some links of what DCs were listed at, she insisted that we buy it. I made an offer and the estate accepted. It took a week to get everything sorted and I pick it up this morning. This DC is very clean and dry. Very little to no rust, no bondo and pretty original. It has been repainted and I believe it has a Dual carbed 1776 in it. I am not gonna try to start the engine because it has way too much end play. The brakes work and the e brake works. I found all the keys. The ignition and all the door locks work. The gates work perfectly as well as all the doors and windows. The felt in the window channels look great. Over all the vehicle is in excellent condition and I’m stoked to have it!
This vehicle was sold by the original owner in 1972. The second owner had it for 19 years and traded it in to a small car dealership in Cortez, Co in 1991. The next owner bought it on February 14, 1991. He drove it for 7 years and parked it in his carport 1998. There it sat until I bought it today.
My plans would be to do what needs to be done to get it back on the road. After I got it home I spent some time cleaning up the interior, mostly vacuuming mouse shit and mouse nests. During my clean up I found the log book in the glove box. It’s mane is “Stewball.”
Vehicle has 131,xxx miles on it.
Where it’s been sitting for 27 years
Rockers
Nose has a little damage, likely from the tire being mounted to it.
Front pan
Rear seat and pan
Masked up to clean the massive nest under the rear seat
Dash is in excellent shape
Door cards
OG windshield. Stewball, the Berkeley Bus
Engine bay
The stuff I found in the bus that was worth keeping. I also found the original owners manual
M-Plate

Congratulations Rich! Another gem to add to your growing fleet. The challenge now will be, which one to drive. _________________ *******************************
