What sems were used on barndoors and when did the ribbed and grooved ones stop being used? I'm a hardcore, and long time (purist) split and oval Beetle guy, and know their use well in those cars. But what about Barndoor buses?

Beetles used them (SWF Ribbed and SHO Grooved) more or less interchangeably until very late '53.

Same for buses? I restore these early sems and want to know what T-2s used them

TIA...

According to www.barndoor.dk the ribbed semaphores were used until mid December 1953 with chassis number 20-069408 being the last to use them.

as we know alot of beetle parts fit on buses. it's always a good idea, when looking for a part that fits both to check the beetle classifieds for a better deal. just like when you wanna sell something that fits both, you list it in the bus classifieds. you know what i mean, right?

Actually, I have another restored set done and was considering listing them in the barndoor bus section this time. I sold a set in the split Beetle section a couple weeks ago. Rest assured my price is the same, I just can't list them in both places at once....

Thanks for the replies. There are some indications that they ended in the Beetle production in mid Dec '53 also.
