Would like your opinions on the best color white for a Westy.
My westy is at the paint shop. I’m sticking with Dove Blue but changing the pop top to white. Would you do an Off White, a bright white, a bluish white, or a beige white? Please take the poll and add a comment for a specific white, if you have a preference for one in particular. Thanks! |

Take into consideration the heavy black line created by the pop top seal. I don't think I have ever seen any other option for a seal that is anything but black. Some are wider tho. Anyway, the border being black will make your choice less dramatic, whatever color you choose. If it is maximum contrast you want, go with the whitest white. If it is the least contrast you want, the blue-white.
Also, are you wanting it white for best heat rejection? Then the whitest white is also your better choice. _________________ '87 Westy 'Flossie','86 Westy 'R1','86 tintop GL - Subi2.2 'J2','83.5 stock tintop L 'ZoomBus','74 Karmann Ghia, '63 Notch |

My opinion: Dove Blue with bright white on the top portion, like Dave did to his:

x3. Color matched looks much better in my opinion. It looks like it’s part of the van, not an add on. If the van was two-tone then a white pop top plus white above the belt line and blue below could look great. _________________ - Jim

Guilty as charged.
Current: 1990 Westy Camper - Bostig RG4, 2wd, manual trans w/Peloquin, NAHT high-top, 280 ah LFP battery, 160 watts solar, Flash Silver, seam rust, bondo, etc., etc.
Past: 1985 Westy Camper - 1.9 wbx, 2wd, manual trans, Merian Brown, (sold after 17 years to Northwesty who converted it to a Syncro). |
