Doing an oil change and looking to see if the filter from the auto parts store is good to use. Was using a Mann 940/25, and the store has a Mann 719/30. It seems 719/12 is the go too, but will the /30 be good to use? Also picked up a Mobil 1 M1-205A as a backup, so if anyone has experience with this that would be good too!

719/30 seems to be a cartridge, not a spin on.

the Mann filters do not have issues with oil pressure alarms. Fram and many others do. spin the big wheel or take the known prize in Door #1.

If indeed you are looking to use the 940/25 spin on filter you might also take a look at the 950/4.

It's a bit bigger so may not fit in every application but it's bigger so it has to be better. Right?

Just tossing that out there incase that might be something that they have in stock.

Interesting, maybe W719/30 is the better description. It’s the whole filter! And as I understand it, 719 is the size and the /XX is the filter density or micron size.

That's all I've used on my 2.1L. No issues.

Be aware though, that there are two types... either one could be in your box.

I discovered this during the last oil change.

If you can't find a Mann W719/12, you can also use a W719/14, which is what I use.

I order them by the case (10 pack) at this site

The mobile filter on the right appears to have an anti drain back valve that the other does not have.

The one on the right has a square cut O ring, that sure looks to stand pretty tall. Not sure I like that.

Not sure what you searched for, but that's not the W 719/30 filter, which is a spin on:

That drain-back valve helps ease the 0. 0314159% of wear that occurs on startup.

Typed in the filter and that came up, I was surprised, that's why I posted the link, did it twice.

I've been using the Mobil 1 "205A" and it is a good filter for the engine. It has the drain back valve in it. They advertise that it does and you can see it through the holes (except for that filter made on Wednesday that KamzCab86 posted.)

Ain't technology grand? I have 719/30's sitting on my shelf for my I-4, so I knew something was amiss Laughing
