I got the call from the shop today that my 95 EVC is finally running on all 5 cylinders ($4,000 later)
The 195/70 15 Continental Vanco tires have some light side wall cracking,....the tread depth looks to be at 75% or better.
Thinking I would like to do something like the Falken Wildpeak A/T tires I put on my 2003 MV, but thought to check with you guys before moving forward.
I put one size taller and one size narrower on my 2003: 215/65-16" and they have worked out well. But with the 95 EVC having a 195 width, I don't know that I would want to go narrower.
So,....in addition to asking about tire recommendations, I am interested in hearing if anyone has gone with a taller tire.
Thoughts?

Congratulations on the van running again! That's great.
I have no commentary on different sizes, but will say that I've got Continental Vanco tires in the stock size on mine and they're great so far. Quiet, wearing evenly, basically doing what a tire should. |

You need load rating 102 minimum.
We have been very satisfied with Kumho Crugen, load rating 104. _________________ Larry in OB

Go with a 215/65/16 tire size. It's extremely popular in Europe and there are many here in the US that have the 102 load rating. From my experience, the Nokian Rotiiva AT have been the best I have ever used on my EV. Good wear, do not get noisy over time, work in the mud and they are winter tires too. I liked them so much, my Jeep has them.

Yes it does, but you can buy 16" wheels and then have a better selection to tires that meet the size and load rating. Upgrade now with a product that will futureproof itself as opposed to struggling with going with an old configuration. |

Hello so I didn't see a reply to the OPs comment about his 95 having 15 in rims.
I also have a 95, Winni Rialta camper and I am interested in going to 16s so can possibly install larger brakes.
Can someone explain the process to allow using 16 in rims at least in the front as the rear is different than a Eurovan.
Thank you. Phil |

recommend you start a new thread rather than introduce a totally different topic into an existing thread about tires. |

| Just remember if you go to 16 in Wheels or change to a larger than the stock 15-in wheels underneath where the tire spare tire goes, It will rub against the exhaust so caution ....mine caught fire with 205 's....it's very exciting and scary...so I have my spare tire in the back inside the van. it's a pain in the neck, but safety first... Some people put a rear swing away spare tire holder but it interferes with my everpresent bike racks...Id really like to put it in front like my Bay but I'm not sure with all the weight and airflow It will work...Good luck...Bill VT and PR |

So rereading this thread as I also have a Winni Rialta as the OP does and I noticed people recommending tires with a lower load rating than what is required for the Rialta.
The Rialta requires a 104 in front and 109 load rated tire in the rear.

Hope the OP re reads this so he is aware.
