Interesting panel gaps. Is that a door at the back or a thrust reverser? _________________ Andy

I find this an unfortunate means of taking the family on a road trip.

My mom had a setup like this on her (now my) T100 4X4, and she wasn't even Mexican. It came in real handy until the lock on my house's sliding glass door broke. Now we use it as a glorified door stop. |

Cool indeed!
But OMG, thinking for yourselves, isn’t that waaay too hard?

Keep the non-Faith.
Auto-correct enables and encourages illiteracy, instead of encouraging practice that helps all to write better — and is therefore horrid for those not needing it (if not everybody else).
These are not wild or radical concepts, but actually stupid-simple.
I’ve lost track of the times it screwed up my actual messages if I don’t study my own damned words that were correct just to be miscorrected — which I’ve never had to do to such levels before in any communications.
Until it proves to have zero negative effects on people, I’ll reject it.
It never will prove that though, so I always will. _________________ 1984 Westfailure/2.1 Digijet/5.43 Ring & Pinion/Peloquin/D-rated BFG KO2s

Martin, besides AI correcting your typo, what is your point here? I always called this a cargo cover. But thanks to your AI query, I learned that some refer to this as a Tonneau Cover.
Specifically, if you are looking for this on a Subaru SUV, the product detail page lists this as a Tonneau Cover. https://parts.hughessubaru.com/p/Subaru__Crosstrek/Tonneau-Cover/71574091/65550FJ021VH.html
Made me think, where did the term come from? So I asked GPT about its origin:
"Tonneau" is a French word that originally meant "barrel" or referred to the rear seating compartment of early cars (often rounded like a barrel).
In early automobiles, a tonneau cover was used to cover the rear seats when not in use—like a soft convertible top.
Over time, the term stuck and evolved to mean any cover over a rear cargo area, especially on pickup trucks.
Neat. _________________ "Jo Ann" - '83.5 Westfalia EJ22e w/Peloquin |

"Tonneau" sounds fancier than "cover" and so higher prices can be demanded! _________________ Current Fleet:

I wonder what "AI" would make of our present tariff/stock market situation... _________________ Current Fleet:

My colleague used the paid version of ChatGPT to do a deep dive into just that. It was interesting but too long to post here.
On another AI topic in the news, Shopify CEO Tobi Lutke says he has a "fundamental expectation" that employees at the e-commerce platform incorporate artificial intelligence in their work, and he's doubling down with new hiring policies. According to a staff memo Lutke posted publicly, employees will have to "demonstrate why they cannot get what they want done using AI" before requesting additional headcount or resources. The memo added that employees' use of AI will now be a component of their performance reviews.

I’d love to see that! You can share the GPT conversation using the "Share" button in the top right.
It doesn’t surprise me that more job listings are starting to include AI as a requirement. I work in the Product Experience Management space (including e-commerce), and speed is everything. I use GPT constantly—especially during architectural discussions.
Example: during a discovery call, a client might mention they’re using XYZ software and want to integrate with ABC software. I’ve never touched XYZ, so I quickly ask ChatGPT if it can push/pull data from software XYZ. It tells me version 2.0 supports pulling data. Right there on the call, I can ask the client, “Are you at least on version 2.0?”
Even if I need to double-check GPT’s info later, I’ve already moved the conversation forward.
Also, if you pay for ChatGPT, the Advanced voice interaction is wild. I used it in the garage with my dad. My dad is a professional welding, but new to my brothers harbor freight welder. We told it what we were welding and the model of our welder and it gave us the settings to use. My dad said the settings were pretty close to what they should be.
Here are some of my first welds:

Yes, I use it all the time to do due diligence research into my clients, their customers, any legal troubles, industry trends, competitors including rankings by whatever values you want, summarize interview and meeting notes, fact check data, etc.
Was at an annual conference for Tech Industry CEOs last week and one of the speakers was a Harvard University Prof who presented a case study (this year on NVIDIA) that their Executive MBA group dug into and it was really interesting on where things are going with AI.
I'll see if I can get a copy or a link to the deep dive into Tariffs/stock markets that my colleague put together. _________________ *******************************
