I am honestly interested in that car, the way it sits.
Im not saying it isnt rough, but Im also saying that anything can be fixed.

I hope somebody gets it. It would suck to see an early vert get cut up.

Hell with that Sam, Isn't the vert about ripped in half? Are there any buses in there? Sounds like a good weekendtrip.

Yea, the passengers side is definately two peices... but hell it needs channels and support rails anyway.
Im not afraid of the damage or the rot.
Busses are too much damn $$ for a poor whiteboy like myself.

I must agree with your ideals here, theres no reason to be afraid of rot. every damn piece of any of our cars is available at very low costs these days. if its rusty, cut it back till the metal is good, and replace whats gone. simple repair. its far better than seeing the car destroyed.
you could pick that vert up for a song, and then get it to be a roller and it would be sweet.  take it easy, lets keep saving these babies. dave |

Honestly, seeing as Ocelot was the man who found it, I wouldnt even mind if he felt like parting the car out, I STILL want the shell of a car.
Of course I would rather have the entire heap, but Im not the one deciding!

Wow, so you all say save the car.
I have been doing some homework myself as far as body damage and after looking at this car closer, I think most of you are correct in saying she's fixable.
Yeah, body is seperated in half, but that is usually how most of them are anyway when found.
The original pass. seat is there, no drivers seat though. Only the rear upper back seat is there.
I am hoping the title has the previous owners name on it so I can track down what happened to the rest of it.
I have seen far worse restored that was valued much less when finished.
some of you wrote me private messages which I will keep and at the end of the month if I decide to sell, I will be writing you back.
I have always liked bugs, especially convertibles.
I had a 1958 Sunroof with semiphores I would love to have still, but she is somewhere in Loudon TN. 
Just to get an idea,
should I decide to restore, where can quality rocker panels be bought?
and floorpans, etc.???
As far as buses, no, none of those.
There use to be a baby blue oval I remember 15 yrs ago in the yard. They smushed it. Bummers, it was about a 1957 or so. That was the reason I went back to the yard in the first place.

I hope you know what you are getting into. I can't even tell you how expensive an oval convertible is to restore. I restored one that was complete and i spent a ton of money, with no rust!
Just about everything that makes and oval vert special and expensive is missing from that car. Front seat, rear seat, rear glass, decklid, semaphores, tailights, the list goes on. These are $$$$$ items. The only real thing you have going for it is the rear mirror!
Cut that car up and help save some other cars!

Your crazy, buy it and work on it on your spare time because its worth trying to save it, trust me i bought a rusted out piece of shit split vert some people on here would have pass on it on a heart beat but wait till they see what i've done to it since then Wiggy is right on one thing its going to cost alot but in the end if you decied to sell your going to get most of it back. I would save it  |

But get ALL the little things that are hard to find switches,latches,etc,etc. |

Apples and oranges.... most would agree to go way out of there way to restore a split dash vert. I would cut this car up and save the other verts like yours. With the money this guy would spend just buying the missing parts, he could buy another project that is in better condition. |
