|
|
A couple of lives ago, I used to build bugs and SOP was to replace the rotted stock exhaust with an extractor system. 30 years later, I get to revisit the joy of muffler replacement. I don't want to toss the heat exchangers (they actually work!), but everything else downstream must go. I know what's there is stock/original (this bus is in remarkably-excellent original condition) - it even has the dealer-installed AC, but I see no 02 sensor (this was originally a Texas bus, we bought it from the original owner).
What's been working best for y'all out there?
Inquiring minds want to know! |

Doing a search will reveal many past threads and answers for this question, but this section of Richard's invaluable FAQ will give you some quick info that should be helpful:

The extractor systems work, but they are made very cheaply, If you have the cash go with a stock system. I bought the extractor and if I had it to do again, I'd go with stock and replace the CAT with a strait pipe. _________________ My Art:

I would go over to www.busdepot.com and look around in there. You will be looking for the "federal model" stuff. It is worth spending some real money for the good stuff. I coated my stuff with POR-20 high temp paint to make them lastengine
Unless this bus is a CA model (with factory electronic ignition) you don't have a O2 sensor. Quit looking. |
