I picked up this rear seat for my 67 bus and will get it re-upholstered.
But never saw a seat before with a movable arm. The arm can fit on either the left or right side.
Anyone have thoughts about this? Any pictures of a similar finished seat?

Seems to me that if you extend it out - you would be sitting on the metal frame. So, what is the arm's purpose?

Thanks Rick / Albany NY

Bill, being an airline guy... I'm surprised you didn't pick up on this as an early First Class "wide body" (fat ass) accomodation. Smile

Too bad you don't have 3 more. It could make a dormy looking camper set up. Does this seat recline?

I don't see that arm rest as something meant to extend. I think it's meant to just easily swap sides. It's definitely made for a versatile travelall van arrangement. I'm hitting the Mercedes books on this one...

Easy way to not have to pay for 2 seats. Smile

Thank you all. Always great insight from the group.
Still curious where it came from, but even though not VW ... I will use it.
The back is adjustable, but a bit rusty (so not sure if it just tilts or goes down flat).
Thanks, Rick
