I'd go 1776cc, a 135cc difference in displacement is enough to feel by the seat of the pants. The extra cost for having the case & heads bored will be worthwhile.

HP gain depends on how the engine is built, heads, cam, compression, etc. Could be 5-25hp difference.

1776 is a much better choice than a 1641.

If you want bigger valves I suggest you buy new heads with bigger valves. The cost to work on your stock head to make them bigger would cost you as much as buyig new ones. I suggest 40x35 you'll notice the difference. Cool

The road to high performance is an ever twisting road that only gets more expensive the further you go.

When you get to the machining part, let me know. Laughing

Easy bore on the case and heads.

Ciao.

I'd go 40x35 on the heads, whatever you do get them ported! Big valves alone won't do much. If you can only afford to do one for a 1776cc I'd rather see the money put towards porting the stock valve heads to the max (correctly!) than unported big valved heads. If money isn't an object take a look at CB Performance's CNC round ports.

Hard to go wrong with an Engle W-110 cam, can always add 1.25:1 ratio rockers later for more power.

Get a Schadek 26mm pump and machine the case for full-flow - it's all you'll ever need.
