After 10 years of trying to purchase this bus, I got the email I’ve always dreamed of. Bob turned 71 and said he is now ready to let go of his bus.
Bus was built on 12/16/58. It was last registered in AZ in 1982 before he moved to Grover, Utah where he now lives. Very happy to be the next caretaker. Bob purchased the bus from his dad in 1973 for $100. His dad bought it in 1965. I have a bunch of pictures of the rescue and also pictures that Bob loaded on a thumb drive from back in the day. |
Congratulations.
Pretty crazy for someone to own a bus for over 50 years. _________________ .

Keep hanging on to something pays out most of the time. Cool bus with very nice patina, well done. You're probably the 4th owner of this bus. |

This is a picture from 1967. That is Bob in the picture in front of his dad's bus at the time. Euro bumper. _________________ 1957 Single cab

A friend of a friend sent me some interesting pictures. Anyone have any information on Greyhound using buses?
It’s sat since the 80s or longer and is in poor condition.
I have no more pictures but plan a trip to go see it in the coming weeks.

Was it full of all those middle seats people keep trying to ship? _________________ Andy

I thought Josh Hibbler found a Greyhound bus up in PA at some point? |

I saw pictures somewhere of a pressed bumper 23 that had what looked to be period greyhound logos.
Also of course the aforementioned fake 21. _________________ .

^^ just for clarity...
the 21 window in the pic above is owned and run by pacific stage lines. you can see the similar paint job and lettering on the big busses in the back parking lot in the pic. pacific stage lines was a local (british columbia, canada) bus company and were not affiliated with greyhound. one of our hard core local veedubbers (bwaz, here on thesamba), his father in law used to work for this company and convinced them to by a few vw's for city tours! cool! _________________ Silas

I’ll look for all the vw parts people are missing when I check it out lol.
Thanks for all the replies. The bus is in Florida. Not sure on much more. When it gets dug out I’ll try to get more information and make its own thread.
Thanks again for the replies! _________________ 62 original paint Turkis double cab

Sitting since 73’ this 67 kombi is officially retired from its tool shed duties and will soon be ready to camp! Couldn’t be happier to dig this thing out, looking for a set of walk thru seats if anyone’s holding…

That bus has been sitting there since the year I was born. I don't think I would be looking as good after sitting outside in a field for so long.
Great score, it could definitely benefit from a CLR treatment. |

Luckily they’ve moved around their farm a few times since then, I almost think they even had it in the barn or a carport at some point considering how well it’s held up! I’ve started the CLR process, it’s working it’s magic _________________ Motion Dynamic |
