| Do I need to cut out the vertical metal between the horizontal fins? Seems you would for air flow. |

Yes, the mold flashing should be removed for best airflow. The same should be done on the heads. _________________ Jasan C.

I use an abrasive disc in a table saw to cleanup the flash on the cylinders and heads. _________________ Glenn

Hey, single replies usually means the question was answered to perfection and the rest of us say, thank goodness Jasan is handling some of the load.
And yes, do the cylinder head flashing as well, like he said

you do- clean up the flash. This can be done with a dremel and the attachements to clean up the fins for improved air flow over the cylinders. Wear safety glasses and drink some beer later. (I'm not a doctor, but I've had a lot of medical device experience and laboratory work from a microbiological background). also clean and paint the cylinders to prevert rust- which is a nutrient that can sustain microorganisms over time. |
